School is Cool

Many of you know that my daughter, Libby, has health problems that have delayed her developmentally. Because of this, she will start a developmental preschool with our school district in the fall.
I had Lainey accessed to be a "peer model" for the developmental preschool a couple months ago. She was accepted, and she and Libby will be in the same class this coming fall. They'll attend 4 days a week, 2 1/2 hours a day, be fed lunch, and ride the bus home. Of course I'm ecstatic, but also concerned about "the diabetes thing" for Lainey.
There are only 2 schools in the district that offer preschool, so naturally I chose to send the girls to the one closest to our house.
Last month at our school eligibility meeting we met the girls' new teacher, "Ms. Barb", among other teachers, specialists, coordinators and therapists. Libby turned on the charm, and everyone fell in love with her. Lainey was there too and acted very grown up.
During the meeting my concerns for Lainey's diabetic care were brought up, and quickly put to rest when I was told, "Ms. Barb has a diabetic daughter." I literally began crying when the specialist said that! Someone already knows what I'm going through!
Here we are, in a town of 50,000 people, and I pick the ONE out of two schools that offer preschool, and the ONLY special education teacher in that school is a mother of a diabetic child.
Divine Intervention?
I think so.
