Every 3 months we drive to Utah to see Lainey's Pediatric Endocrinologist. The doctor checks her height and weight, her A1C, and makes adjustments to her insulin pump so that we can better control her diabetes. Today her A1C was 7.6, which means her sugars have been a little too high. We'd like her A1C levels to be between 7.0 and 7.5 percent. We've been seeing Dr. Swinyard since Lainey's diagnosis and have been very happy with him. He is a very understanding doctor, since he also has type 1 diabetes.

The nurses are very kind to us and let Lainey color pictures to hang on the wall. She insisted that her new picture be taped next to her old picture (dated Oct. 14, 2008). Lainey also gets to pick out toys and stickers from the treasure box.
We usually make the 3 hour drive, there and back, in one day. After the appointment we'll go out to lunch and to the playground at the mall. Today I took Lainey to the Treehouse Museum instead. It was awesome!

Yay! Way to go Lainey!! I think that isn't too bad of an A1C. You guys are doing awesome and she is cute as can be!
