The doctor wants us to keep a log of Lainey's blood sugar numbers. So I have been faithfully doing so since her diagnosis. It's automatically saved in her meter, but I have to keep a hard copy to give to the doctor. I record her numbers under the six columns labeled: before breakfast, before lunch, afternoon snack, before supper, bedtime, and middle of night. These are the typical times during the day we prick her finger.
I've recorded Lainey's sugars for 837 days; that's 2 years, 3 months, and 17 days; that's 119 weeks; that's 20,088 hours, which is 1,205,280 minutes, which is 72,316,800 seconds.
Living with diabetes is a daily process...and there are more days ahead.
