Lainey spent 5 days in the hospital. Dad took off work, and spent nights holding her in the recliner at the hospital, while I (being 4 months pregnant) went home to sleep.
I didn't take any pictures during those days. Emotionally, I couldn't. I cried so much during those five days. My husband said I'd later regret not taking pictures, and he was right. I do regret it.

This was Lainey's favorite book, which we read many times during those 5 days.
During our hospital stay we had a crash course on diabetes education. We returned home with lots of prescriptions.
